Lot 314:
Signed Surrealist Landscape Print Numbered 2 of 99
Description
A framed limited edition color print featuring a surrealist composition. Frame measures 16 x 13 inches. The artwork depicts a vertical landscape oriented horizontally, characterized by a rocky cliff side integrated with numerous human faces peering out toward a central blue void. On the opposite side of the chasm, a lush green hillside is populated with trees, their branches reaching across the center of the image. The print is executed on a textured substrate, possibly canvas or a heavy paper with a canvas-like grain. It is signed in the upper right margin in a fluid, illegible graphite script. The lower right margin bears a pencil inscription reading 2/99, indicating its status as the second impression of a limited edition of one hundred. The work is presented in a dark brown wooden frame with a cream-colored mat under glass.
