Peter Max Signed and Numbered Lithograph Facing Left 1976
Description
A five-color lithograph on Arches paper by Peter Max, titled Facing Left and dated December 1976. The artwork features a psychedelic profile of a figure composed of vibrant blocks of pink, orange, yellow, and blue against a solid green field. The work is hand-signed in pencil in the lower right margin as Peter MAX and hand-numbered in pencil in the lower left margin as 257/300. Frame measures 14 3/4 inches by 13 inches. The reverse of the frame retains an original adhesive Print Documentation sheet from Circle Gallery Ltd. This document confirms the print classification as a 5 Color Lithograph with a total edition size of 360 impressions, comprising a numbered edition of 300 and 60 artist proofs. It notes the print was pulled under the supervision of Mauro Guiffreda at The American Atelier in New York City with technical assistance from Jorge Dumas. The sheet also lists the colors as Green, Lavender, Yellow and indicates the edition was inspected and signed in pencil by Peter Max in his studio in December 1976. The documentation bears an embossed logo for Circle Gallery Ltd. at the bottom. The work is housed in a silver-tone metal frame with an off-white mat.Image Size: 4-3/8 x 7 inches, Sheet Size: 10-1/4 x 12-3/8 inches.
