Description
Framed under glass, A color etching with aquatint on paper by Donald Stoltenberg (American, 1927-2016) titled Racing. The semi-abstract nautical composition features stylized sailboats with sharp, overlapping translucent triangular sails rendered in shades of yellow and light green. The foreground is a deep blue field, contrasted by a vibrant green-to-yellow horizon line. The work is hand-signed in pencil in the lower right margin Stoltenberg ’85 imp, with the notation imp indicating the artist personally printed the impression. It is titled Racing in the lower center margin and numbered 5/100 in the lower left margin. The print is professionally presented in a white mat and a simple light-toned wood frame under glass. Frame measures 31 x 19 inches
