Kristal Art Iridescent Glass Vase with Acid Etched Leaf Decoration and Salvatore Polizzi Signature
Description
This art glass vase is designed in a flared trumpet form with a stylized, foliated rim. Measures 20 1/2 inches tall and 6 inches square at the base. The body is constructed from iridescent glass featuring a multi-colored pulled-feather and marbleized surface pattern in amber, gold, and forest green tones. The interior is finished with a high-sheen metallic gold iridescence. A primary decorative element is the frosted, acid-etched design near the rim, depicting large, stylized acanthus-like leaves. The vessel is joined to a heavy, square, stepped base of transparent teal-blue glass. An incised signature is present on the underside of the teal glass base. The signature is hand-engraved and reads Kristal Art followed by Salvatore Polizzi. There is an additional incised date or number below the signature, which appears to be 91 or 71, though the second digit is not clearly distinguishable.
