Lot 307:
Description
This geometric Op Art serigraph titled Tsiga features an intricate arrangement of interlocking, shaded blocks in primary and secondary colors of red, green, and blue. Frame measures 38 x 34 inches. The composition forms a central hexagon against a black ground, utilizing isometric perspective and color gradations to create a three-dimensional, labyrinthine visual effect. The work is hand-signed by Victor Vasarely in pencil in the lower right margin. In the lower left margin, it is pencil-numbered 26/250, indicating it is the twenty-sixth impression from a limited edition of two hundred and fifty. The print is housed in a white wooden frame with a gold-tone inner fillet and an off-white mat. The reverse of the frame features a handwritten note on the brown cardboard backing in blue ink, which reads Sept 9, 1985 Park West Auction $450.00 + 10% + 4% tx. A separate pencil inscription of 35510 is located near the center of the backing.
